“These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”
Meetings in John’s Gospel
We will spend the rest of our lives getting to know and trust Jesus better. So, it’s a wonderful thing to have detailed biographies of his human life. The gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) tell us who he was, why he came, and how to respond to his call.
But they’re not instruction manuals. They’re a series of stories. We get to know Jesus though the words of eyewitnesses who knew him themselves. They tell us what he said and did and what it was like to be with him.
We’re going to spend this term reading about 7 different people who met Jesus. All the meetings we’re looking at are in John’s gospel. He, more than any other gospel-writer, used these meetings or encounters to help us know Jesus for ourselves.
Sermons
We will usually spend 2 weeks on each passage. This will mean we have one all-age talk and one full sermon on each. The sermons are uploaded here to listen again or to use if you were away.
