Christmas 2024

Whoever you are … whether you’ve been to church before or not … you would be so welcome at our Christmas events and services.

Sunday 1st December – 10am

All ages will love this service. Children will get to make their own Christingle (a little reminder of the Christmas story made out of an orange, a candle and sweets!). We’ll sing together and celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season. Stay around afterwards for some drinks, food and a chat.

Saturday 14th December – 4pm

Starting outside Costa at Kilner Way Retail Park, we’ll be spreading the Christmas joy as we sing carols for the community. We’ll be travelling around the parish, also visiting the Binsteds and Midhurst Road Residential Home. Singers of any standard are welcome, and you don’t need to come to church. We will provide carol sheets or you can view the sheets on your phone at the bottom of this page. Remember to wrap up warm!

Sunday 15th December – 6pm

One for the grown ups – this will really get you in the Christmassy mood with all the classic carols like Hark the Herald and Once on Royal David’s City! We’re having a traditional service of 6 lessons and carols all by the light of at least 100 candles! Afterwards everyone’s welcome to stay around for mince pies and mulled wine.

Sunday 22nd December – 5pm

One for all ages – we’re putting on a nativity and we want the whole family to be involved! We’ll sing some classic carols and retell the story of the very first Christmas. Adults and children are welcome to come dressed as your favourite character from the nativity and join in with some acting. Any ages are welcome and no one is too loud! We’ll have mulled wine and mince pies afterwards so please feel free to stay for a chat.

Christmas Eve – 11:30pm

This is a more intimate, traditional service to bring in Christmas Day. We’ll take communion together and celebrate the wonder of God come as a baby with carols, Bible readings and a short talk.

Christmas Day – 10:15am

Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate what Christmas is really all about. This service is family friendly, we’ll sing carols and think about the true meaning of Christmas.
