“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
– Jesus, found in the Bible in Matthew 19:14
We love having young people as part of our church family here at Christ Church so we have lots on for them to come along to…
Sunday mornings
Children of all ages are always welcome on a Sunday morning.
On the first and third Sunday of the month, we have an All Age Service, which means everyone stays together to worship and we make sure the whole service is as accessible as possible.
On the second and fourth Sundays, the primary-aged children and below join the beginning of the service before leaving for Kids’ Club, which is a group in the church hall run by DBS’d and safely recruited leaders. At Kids’ Club, we discover more about Jesus in an age-appropriate way by playing games, hearing stories, praying and making crafts.
If there’s a fifth Sunday in the month we have a Cafe Service, which means we sit around tables, eat pastries and have lots of discussion and activities, which children can join in with.
For those secondary aged and above, we think all our services are accessible and we run a youth group, which we’d love them to get involved in. See below…
Criss Cross Baby and Toddler Group
On Thursday mornings in term time, starting on 11th September, we run a group for parents and carers to bring their babies and toddlers. This is a friendly and supportive space where we want you to feel at home and your little one to have a lovely time. We’ll have some Bible stories and songs, as well as snacks and lots of tea and coffee. No need to book ahead, just show up between 9:30 and 11:00am.

Youth Group
On Thursday evenings in term time, from 6:30-8pm we run a Youth Group for those in school years 5-13. This is a friendly place to make friends, play table tennis, have fun and learn a little more about the Christian faith.

Occasional events
We run various events throughout the year for families and young people to get involved with like a Christingle, Nativity dress up service and an Easter Eggstravaganza. Information about these things will be shared on Facebook or get in touch and we can keep you updated.
Contact
If you’ve got any questions about any of these things, please get in touch with Polly, our Children’s, Youth and Families Minister, she’d love to hear from you.
